Confidence Coaching | Ages 12-18

Trust me,
 you’re awesome.
Confidence coaching - young hockey player

It’s so easy to lose sight of this, but when you explore who you are with openness and curiosity, with a coach who supports you at every step, your light starts to shine. Pieces of the puzzle start to fit. Things become less scary and more hopeful.

Because here’s what I know and believe:
You’ve got this.

Being a teen can be a lot—juggling friendships, school stress, stepping into your own independence, and trying to figure out who you are. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Maybe you’re not sure where you fit in, or you’re struggling to find your confidence when everyone around you seems to have it all together. The noise of ‘should be’ and ‘should do’ can make it easy to lose sight of who you are and where you’re headed.

Coaching with Colleen is totally personalized to what’s best for you. Think of it as a choose-your-own-adventure with you in the driver’s seat. We work on helping you to find your footing, build confidence, bounce back from setbacks, and really own what makes you, you.

Colleen's Approach

I love helping t(w)eens navigate these wild years. You’re figuring out who you are and stepping into new responsibilities and opportunities every year. My goal is to walk beside you as you explore your strengths and discover your unique path.

I believe in starting slow to go fast—taking the time to really understand why you’ve stepped into coaching and what you’re looking to achieve. We’ll dive into what might be holding you back and figure out what can fuel your success. My coaching is grounded in trust, curiosity, and the belief that you are smarter, braver, and more capable than you might think.

I strive to ensure you leave every session feeling capable to take on the rest of your week. Together, we’ll make the tough stuff less scary and the good stuff even better.

Hey, Parents!

Those teenage years are hard for parents AND teens—both trying to navigate the changes in their own lives, alongside the shifting dynamics in their relationship to each other.

You’re learning to guide, support and connect with your t(w)een in a completely different way, learning to let go of control and trust more, all while navigating the wonderful mood swings that accompany adolescence!

Your kid is developing more independence, seeking more autonomy, and starting to discover who they are as their own unique individual. In the process, they often want a little more space from their parents.

During those tough teenage years, your kid needs trusted adults—in addition to you—to turn to. It’s completely normal for your teen to seek guidance and support from others as they process and navigate the hard things and new experiences they’re encountering.

I’m here to be a fresh presence, providing a space where they feel safe to embrace the process, to listen and grow. Our coaching helps bridge the gap between the support you want to offer and what your kiddo is willing to receive. Together, we’ll help them find their own path, while giving you peace of mind that they’re in good hands.

Questions I get from t(w)eens & parents:

T(w)eens

In our 1:1 sessions, we’ll explore whatever’s on your mind—whether it’s building confidence, managing your time better, figuring out friendships, staying organized, or figuring out how to handle more independence.

We’ll kick things off with a 6-session coaching package.

Our first session—around 75 minutes—gives us lots of time to set goals and get to know each other. The next five sessions are 50-60 minutes each, all done over Zoom.

We’ll aim to wrap up the 6 sessions within 12 weeks. And if you ever need a quick check-in or have a question between sessions, I’m just a text or email away.

Coaching is your space to explore what you want to create in your life. You can expect a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can talk about your challenges, dreams, and goals. You can expect me to ask questions. It’s all about helping you uncover your strengths, navigate the ups and downs, and figure out the next steps that feel right for you. We’ll have conversations, set goals, and work together to build your confidence and resilience.

That’s completely okay! If you have specific goals you’re excited to work on, that’s great! But I don’t expect you to have it all figured out beforehand. Coaching is a great way to discover what’s important to you and what you want to achieve. We’ll start by exploring more about your interests and what matters to you. Sometimes the goal is simply to gain clarity or confidence, and we’ll work on that together.

Coaching is right for you if you’re curious about who you are, what you really want, and how to make it happen. If you’re feeling stuck, uncertain about your future, or just want someone to talk to about your life, coaching can help. It’s about finding your path and building the skills you need to navigate it. If you’re curious, open-minded, and ready to grow, coaching could be a great fit.

Coaching is future-focused and goal-oriented, helping you figure out where you want to go and how to get there. It’s about growth, self-discovery, and building skills to navigate life’s challenges. Therapy, on the other hand, often focuses on understanding and healing from past experiences. Coaching isn’t a replacement for therapy, but they can complement each other.

Parents

You’ll know coaching is working when you see changes in your child’s confidence, decision-making, and overall outlook on life. Coaching is about gradual progress, so look for small shifts in how your child handles challenges or communicates their feelings.

Coaching is a confidential process that prioritizes your child’s voice and choices. This means that while you’re encouraged to support your child outside of sessions, the content of their coaching conversations remains private. This confidentiality helps build trust and encourages your child to open up. Colleen can provide general updates on progress, focusing on the positive changes your child is making and how they’re engaging with the process. She also wants to hear from you, as a key supporter in their life.

Supporting your child outside of coaching sessions involves being patient, encouraging, and open to listening without judgment. You can help by asking open-ended questions about their goals or what they’re learning in coaching, offering encouragement without pushing them in a specific direction. Celebrate their progress, no matter how small, and respect their need for independence as they work through the coaching process. You can also model the behaviors and attitudes you hope to see in your child, reinforcing the skills and resilience they’re building in coaching.
